The “Official” Official websites rant
4 May 2007OK, here’s a pet hate of mine… small, personal websites or band websites, which call themselves “the official <insert completely unknown entity> website”. Yes, of course you had to add “official” to avoid confusion with all those unofficial sites, devoted to discussion of your exciting life and what you had for dinner on Tuesday, or who’s turn it is to fix the flymo this week.
Now, I can understand the need for the word on say, The Beatles website, but on these sites it is just pure self indulgence. Please stop now!
